ROADS AND TRANSPORT POLICING COMMAND CONTINUE TO CRACKDOWN ON UNSAFE LIMOS
The clampdown on unsafe limos, Operation Kansas, saw Officers from the RTPC’s Commercial Vehicle Unit, and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) carried out on-the-spot checks in central London on 18th April to crack down on those vehicles putting the public in serious danger by not adhering to strict safety standards.
The results from the weekend clampdown:
• 8 vehicles issued with a prohibition notice for having mechanical defects
• 2 vehicles issued with a prohibition notice for exceeding driver hours
• 5 drivers issued with graduated FPNs for exceeding driver hours
Officers also engaged with members of the public to talk to them about public safety and vehicle safety issues.
